Kenneth Brumm joins us as our new Head Chef

 

Believe it or not, Kenneth ain’t just a pretty face. He has already blown away our taste buds with some great specials and we’re really looking forward to all the creative ideas he’ll bring into the team. Here’s a little more about him:

 

Kenneth L Brumm Jr. CEC

 

Born and raised in “Steel Town” Pittsburgh PA, Kenneth L Brumm Jr. CEC was introduced to the world of heat early on. His father had been a chef for his whole life and soon his son would set down the same track. At the age of 14 Kenneth Jr. had worked in his dad’s pizza shop for the summer and soon set down a path of restaurants ranging in styles all the way until graduating from Pennsylvania Culinary Institute in 2008. He went on to work in the famous Green brier Apprenticeship Program under Master Chef Peter Timmins; all the while managing to keep up his passion for new styles of food, then gaining the prestigious title of CEC through the ACF he came to Shanghai in 2010.

To manage restaurants opening and managing the kitchen in Boxing Cat Brewery and assisting in the opening of Bloc all culminating to Head Chef position at the well established MAYA Restaurant where he will give the well known place a bit of a new look at fine dining Mexican cuisine.
